Yarn Along: Monkey Socks & Little House
Knitting– Another pair of Monkey Socks. At this point, I have no idea how many times I’ve knit this pattern, but it’s a LOT. I swear it’s one of the FASTEST sock patterns to do, though. There’s something to the rhythm… 6 pattern repeats on the leg, 6 on the foot … it helps you feel accomplished and keeps you going. For me it’s late in the month to have just started a Christmas present, but these move along quickly enough that I think they should be ready in time for our December 23rd gathering. The yarn is Dream in Color Smooshy, in a colorway called “Spicy Smooches”. (I think it was a limited edition color or part of a kit from The Loopy Ewe, but I’m not positive.)
Reading– A few weeks back when I helped my parents get their Christmas decorations out of the attic, we found my old boxed-set of all the Little House books that my mom read to me as a child. I was so happy to have them, and am looking forward to re-reading them as an adult. I started reading Little House in the Big Woods aloud to Myles. He’s not all that interested yet, but I hope someday he’ll enjoy them.

Those socks look great! I’m knitting my first pair of very basic ones and I’m a bit fed up already, hopefully they come together quickly! 🙂

Such a beautiful color of yarn and cables!

That is an amazing color! I’m going to have to see if it’s available. Monkey Socks were one of the first lace projects I made, so they weren’t easy for me! Someday I’ll try another pair.
I reread some of the Little House books when my kids were little and that was a lot of fun.

Love the color of that sock yarn. I have never read the Little House books. Maybe someday.
