Weekly Farmstead Photos (November 16-22)
I was lax in taking photos this past week, but Saturday night we saw our first real good snowfall that stuck. We woke up to a winter wonderland Sunday morning, and I couldn’t help but run outside to take a few pictures.
The chickens were NOT impressed. When I opened the coop door, they just stood on the threshold, glaring out. One of them pecked at some snow, but no one budged. I didn’t see them out at all, though when I checked on them later in the day, I did see little chicken-prints in the snow here and there, so eventually some of them must have gotten brave enough to venture out.
In preparation for Thanksgiving, I made cranberry sauce for the first time! It’s surprisingly easy. The recipe is from the Living Homegrown podcast and you can find it here. I’m super excited to share this with friends and family on Thursday!
