Easter 2016 in Photos

A month late is better than never, right? These photos were TOO good not to share. Thanks to my dear friend Erica Bickel for taking these amazing photos, and for sharing her family’s holiday with us!

We were very lucky to have a warm, sunny day for Easter Sunday. For March in northwestern Pennsylvania, that’s almost unheard of, so we were able to have a big egg hunt in the back yard for the kids. Easter has always been my favorite holiday since I was a little girl, so having a big celebration and getting to watch the kids have fun and enjoy it made me super happy.

What else made me super happy? These amazing family portraits that Erica did on our front porch.

Ok, so Amelia isn’t technically family… but she may as well be. Right?!

I pretty much cried when I saw these. I need to hurry up and have some printed and framed.

Yes, we had some Easter bunnies this year — not for the sake of Easter, but because one of our meat rabbits had just so happened to have a litter a couple weeks beforehand, so the timing was perfect. Our mama-doe is a white New Zealand but our buck is a brown mixed breed and throws all sorts of lovely colors. The gray one has stolen my heart just a little bit.

And finally, a picture of my parents, which I am so glad to have! It’s been a long time since they had a nice portrait taken together.

I’m hoping to get back into a semi-regular posting schedule next week, and get you updated on what’s been going on around the homestead. Soon, I promise!

Amanda lives with her family on a little red farmstead in northwestern Pennsylvania. By day she's a web developer specializing in WordPress and in her off time she enjoys working with goats and other livestock on the farm, canning, knitting, and crocheting.
